“The team was like, ‘Don’t wear a jockstrap. ‘I said,’ Come on. This is what I do, ‘” she said in an American Dream magazine cover story. “I do best when I ignore them and do what I want to do. So, I’m glad we did it.”
Shock value is something the reality TV personality and mogul creates all the time, especially when she uses fashion to make a statement on the Met Gala red carpet, on the Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover, and with her countless recent SKIMS collections. Kardashian sparked controversy in May 2022 when she went on a diet to fit into Marilyn Monroe’s one-of-a-kind dress. In September 2021, Kardashian arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York wearing a head-to-toe black Balenciaga gown.
“It was a scary moment for me. I was like, ‘I don’t understand. Why should I cover my face for the Met?” Then I was convinced, and I thought, ‘This is a masquerade party. You have to have full vision, and full vision has to be covered from head to toe, and recognisable as a silhouette of me.” So, there’s a lot behind it.” “I trust myself because I know what looks good and I know what makes me feel uncomfortable. But, every once in a while, someone says, ‘Trust me. That looks good.” Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t. You just have to go with the flow. It’s not that serious. I care, but I can’t let it consume me. Sometimes the Angle is bad, the light is bad. You can’t control everything.”
While critics have called the mother of three and aspiring lawyer an exhibitionist in her public appearances and on her social media pages, Kardashian says she’s “not the real deal.” Instead, she describes her style as striking a balance between the achievable and the ideal.
“I see all these people and I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh. I like the way they dress.” Or, ‘I like that. It’s fresh.” I see. For me, I can find something very simple and accessible to a lot of people, a lot of girls, and it’s a huge seller.” “She explained. “The clothes I wear look realistic. It’s easy to find similar items or wear similar clothes, and I think that’s probably what struck a chord. Feel realized.”
She turned her looks into her ability to sell, even her talent.
“People used to say, ‘What do you do? What is your gift?” I said, ‘I didn’t know I needed another one. ‘I mean, I could give you a million talents. I can cook. I can do everything with my toes. I can tell you the strangest thing on the planet, “she said. “But I think my talent is marketing and selling the business behind the product, knowing what the customer wants and making it feel achievable but at the same time a little difficult to achieve. I don’t think it’s a gift. I think it’s magic and business savvy. Maybe it’s talent, I don’t know.”
Amid constant discussion about her fame and how she got to where she is today, Kardashian admitted, “I always feel like I have something to prove,” even if it’s just to myself. She also said it was hard for her to speak highly of her career milestones.
“It’s hard for me to be super confident. I’ve always been more self-deprecating and shy when it comes to “describe yourself”. Talk about yourself. ‘That kind of thing, “she said.
At the end of the day, however, she is the only one who can define her path. “I don’t really care what people think of me or say about me,” she says with a laugh, as her Wikipedia page describes “American socialites, models, media figures and businesswomen”. She added, “I mean, modeling, it’s fun.”
She is most confident in her role as a mother to her children, which she shares with ex-husband Kanye West, and her aesthetic.
“My bikini moment always feels good,” she shared. “My glamour goal is to always look tight.”
